Online Masters Degree - Resources
The master degree is awarded after you earn a particular number of credits according to the necessities of a college or university degree program. In the United States the number of credits typically represents one to two years of full-time college or university study that are completed after a student earns a bachelor degree. A master degree generally requires 1.5 to 4 years of study depending on whether you register full-time or part-time in your program and the nature of the program.
The Master of Arts and Master of Science degrees are the basic type in most subjects and may be entirely course-based, entirely research-based or a combination. The Master degree is intermediary between a bachelor degree and a doctorate. In some fields, one customarily earns a masters before a doctorate; in others, work on a doctorate begins instantly after a bachelor's degree.
